#Mindfulness In the Midst of Trauma: Hold the Space

Holding Space: Some Key Attributes

  1. Letting go of judgment

  2. Opening your heart

  3. Allowing another to have whatever experience they're having

  4. Giving your complete undivided attention to the situation/other person

When you hold the space- you're not trying to influence the situation or person. You're not trying to fix it, win at it, or affect any kind of outcome. You are simply being with it fully so that it can work itself out in that space of emotional freedom at which you have no control. Let go and let God. Don't settle for trying to influence a matter where God's best is greater than your trying.

By letting go and giving it to God- you put your trust Him and give Him control of every circumstance. Remember, your stress or worry will not change a thing, your job is to simply hold the space.
