What has the pandemic taught you about motherhood?
If you're reading this, you can affirm that you made it through!
As we each have been faced with taking care of our families and managing our lives due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, taking care of your mental health and emotional well-being is more important than ever.
The bright side is there is a lot you can do to build resilience and maintain your peace of mind – including:
Staying healthy by exercising and eating well
Practicing stress reduction activities like music meditation or mindfulness
Incorporating daily prayer and weekly small group bible study
Finding time to connect with friends, family and coworkers
Increasing exposure new things – in your community, learning something new at work or sharing information at school
Take a personal self-care retreat or spa day
Read Oprah Winfrey's new book "What happened to you?"
Continue to go to church online or in-person, enjoy some praise and worship
If you are a working mom, take advantage of your workplace resources and support programs like the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Managing pandemic stressors doesn’t necessarily get easier with time; it may even get harder. Yet, there is hope when you take it one day at a time and determine what is good enough for today. Be present, in the moment. No judgment, no worries. God's grace is sufficient.
