What on earth can match the beauty of a rainbow? Not a mansion, luxury car, designer handbag, the latest fashion, or shoe.
On one of my morning walks I saw a rainbow in the sprinklers, as I walked, it jumped from one sprinkler to the next. It was the most beautiful revelation… As
long as there was sunshine and water pouring in, the rainbow appeared.
Yet, then I realized, if it appeared, it meant that it was always there. It just needed the right conditions to reveal itself. It needs the rays of the sun and the balance of water. This was a metaphor of life to me and God’s promises. God is always with us even when we can’t see Him. As long as we have light and allow the river of life to flow, we will see God’s goodness. We will see His rainbows everywhere. He is aways here.
What beauty we can glean from God's presence- in the rainbow, sunshine, water, and air. They are all freely given and equally priceless. Rainbows cost nothing, yet they are majestic. The sun pours its rays of warmth and nourishment for all inhabitants of the earth to see and thrive. Water covers 71% of the earth and refreshes soil, bodies, and soul. The air cleanses as the breath gives life. God, our creator, is at the center of it all.
Sometimes, the things of life can distract us, seem more tempting, or even necessary, yet I encourage you to, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’” Hebrews 13:5 NIV
